Hey guys,
First of all, Congratulations. I am a season ticket holder which didn't had an opportunity to go to the first game, and I got to give it to you all. It is amazing what you all are doing.
I write from a personal opinion coming from where I was born (Monterrey Mexico) and soccer is a religion.
I am not a member of the coopers nor I am in the same section as you all but I am in the one besides it and I am supporting and shouting all chants with you. I take my girl to every game and for seating purposes we decided to be on section 120.
i guess what I am trying to say is there are a lot of chants that we could do and we are not doing, simple chants nothing complicated that all the crowd can sing. Also we kept repeating the LC FC (different crowds) and floats like a butterfly stings like a bee. (dont get me wrong I absolutely like them a lot)
Maybe adding more chants OlE! OlE OlE OlE! Elsie! Elsie! add something like this (where in every clap we should LC) "Lets go Elsie" (or LC-FC) clap! clap! clap! clapclap!
also this video is awesome watched it and i know we could get so many chants out of it.
Like I said... I absolutely love what you all are doing and i will continue supporting with you. As a soccer lover, thanks for what youre doing for the team and the city.
Hope some day we can get an MLS team.

We have a lot of great ideas, but we need to start small, build up a base of "easy" chants that the crowd can pick up on, and go from there.

How about (to the tune of "We're Not Gonna Take It/Twisted Sister":
"We're gonna take it; "We're gonna take it; "We're gonna take it; All three points!"
You could modify it with player names: "Fondy's gonna take it; "Guzman's gonna take it; etc.
You could go through the all the players on the field.

Simplicity definitely seems to be the way to go in a lot of these. Too much dependence on a specific song tune gets difficult, sections don't sync up, and a good effort fizzles out into a mess. However we've got some legit trained percussionists manning drums now, so that is going to help a LOT.
Call and response seem like a good way to get the crowd into things, especially if you tell them what to say at the start. (i.e. When I say "cancer" you say "research"). There needs to be a good mix of chants someone who is showing up for the first time and is a total rookie can pick up and join in on, as well as chants that require someone to know the words before. People knock cheer sheets. These are common. When they're not common is when a team has a massive fan base and has been around forever so everyone already knows the words.
Chants don't need to be too wildly creative or intricate. For instance:
Whoever starts the chant: L-C Crowd: (L-C)
F-C (F-C)
LC's the one for me (LC's the one for me)
LC's the one for me (LC's the one for me)
Let's go LC-FC (Let's go LC-FC)
All together: WOOOOOOOOOO
That's not amazing, it's something we put together while reading this post, but you get the idea. Simple call and response. If we can do it together and loud enough, people could hear it on the broadcast, which would be cool.

It's not a 1 liner, but it is relatively simple and it's a tune I think everybody knows...
When 7 goes charging down the wing... Kadeem... Kadeem When 7 goes charging down the wing... Kadeem... Kadeem When 7 goes charging down the wing... All the Coopers stand and sing Kadeem Dacres is gonna score a goal
Na na na na na na na na na na na na Na na na na na na na na na na na na Na na na na na na na na Kadeem Dacres is gonna score a goal

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to post the song sheet for this Saturday's match on here...there will be links on twitter as well. These are songs that we have been using, along with some new ones. Most are relatively easy, but one that's longer one that Ken the other CAPO suggested. We've done something like this before, just added verses to it. I will also print out song sheets for Saturday again, but getting the word out that this is online, maybe people will take a look at it before hand and we will all be able to sink up better for the match. Pumped for Saturday!

I don't think I'm the only one in saying this, but Game Five was probably the best game thus far (except beating Saint Louis). I think a lot of chants and songs can be sung of this game. I feel like this was a statement game. We came together as a team and came together as fans; through thunder and hail, we carried on. I got shivers when the lightning flashed in the sky and the thunder rolled as the teams walked out onto the pitch. I knew from that moment that this would be a game to remember.
When the hail came down, we stood our ground! When PURPLE lightning flashed, our drums did crash! When thunder rumbled, the enemy was humbled! When the card showed red, we were far from dead! When PURPLE rain descends, our support never ends!
Game 5: The Purple Storm Rising
To the tune of Thunderstruck [One person starts it] Oh ah ah aahhh Aaaahhhh! [REPEAT 7X]
CI-TY! Oh ah ah aahhh Aaaahhhh! [REPEAT 7X]

I've been to every game in the SS. Overall you guys are doing great work getting things amped and keeping people excited. The capos, the drummers, people with flags, hell even that guy dressed as a king can work the crowd. Point being, things are awesome. However, there is no way in hell you're going to get people to sing a sing with 3 verses plus chorus'. It's an awesome idea, and I hope someday we get there, but i wouldn't push that one yet, it'll just peter out.
We do a lot of stuff that other clubs do around the world, and that's cool. I'd like to see more stuff specific to us though. Not changing song lyrics, but a simple two line chant that just for Louisville (Beyond LC/FC chants).
Keep up the good work, we are an awesome team and everyone is leading us in the right direction.

The chants were great, however a few of them (which were started by a few individuals and not encouraged or led by The Coopers) went over the line. Cursing is one thing, it's going to happen, it's not a huge issue. But saying things like "p*ssy", "c*nt", or chanting "Suck our D" is crass, and it's not original. We have ballboys in front of us under the age of ten, working with a charity that both the Coopers and LCFC have a relationship with. We have families in the stands who can hear us. Let's not get a bad name because we are crossing the line from being rowdy, to being crass/tasteless. We have intelligent members who can come up with more creative ways to taunt opposition. Let's prove it! That said, we have another chant which its target loves lol He runs down the left,He runs down the riiiiiiiiight,That boy Ka-Deem Daaaaacres,Kicked your ass all night!(Sung to the tune of Viva Ronaldo) Ka-deem Daaacres! Ka-deem Daaacres! Running down the wing, Hear the Coopers sing, Ka-deem Daaacres!

I haven't made it to a game YET but I plan on getting to many in the future. Keeping up online any way possible. I think simple singing the first verse and chorus of Purple Rain in haunting unison would sound brilliant before/after games or even during.
I never meant to cause you any sorrow I never meant to cause you any pain I only wanted one time to see you laughing I only want to see you laughing in the purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain Purple rain Purple rain Purple rain Purple rain
I only want to see you bathing in the purple rain

Gotta say - I think we can learn a song with verses. Start in the pubs, on the bus to St. Louis, one verse at a time. Get a good base with 10/20 coopers that know it and go from there - it will catch on.

Jason,
Yea, we'll be rowdy, loud and obnoxious but don't need the foul language - would end up doing more harm than good for the cause
