To the tune of "Oh, When the Saints" Capo: OH WHEN LOUIE Coopers: OH WHEN LOUIE CAPO: GOES MARCHING IN! Coopers: GOES MARCHING IN! All: Oh when Louie goes marching in, How I want to be in that number, Oh When Louie goes marching in!
When I Root I Root for Louie! Drum/Clap in same rythem
LC Clap-Clap FC
We're trying to keep it PG (as requested) with most of the stuff, so no specifically planned F bombs in the songs/chants.
Also, we actually did sing "Can You Hear St Louis Sing?", without the F bomb. We did the L-C! F-C! chant too.
And this is just my personal preference, but "When the (blank) go(es) marching in" just isn't the same when it's not Saints. Tottenham have been just about the only club in the world that isn't named Saints (i.e. Southampton) to pull that off well, IMO. I might be in the minority with that, but that's just my opinion.
Megaphones and drums have been and are being discussed. So, "check".
A trumpet or two would be awesome as well, so if you have musical instruments & talents, bring 'em.
Let us know what you've got and want to contribute, and from there we can organize.
Regarding "Announcer: First Name, Fans: Last Name"... I'm not a huge fan of the crowd cheering the players' last names after the announcer says their first names. It's great when Dortmund does it because they have a huge crowd, all in sync. Unless it's a huge crowd, it sounds terrible and is difficult to make out. We're just not anywhere near that level yet. Even when Columbus does that with 15,000, it doesn't sound good. I'm more for letting the announcer say the name & then singing a song for the player.
Lastly, keep in mind that the clubs whose songs you're referencing all started a hundred years ago or more, and have had generations of passionate fans develop their traditions and songs. They also have a much larger following, in terms of number of people in the stands that know the words to their songs. We all want to make the atmosphere at these games as awesome as possible, but it's going to take a whole lot of effort on everybody's part, and it's going to take some time. Those traditions & songs didn't happen overnight.
I'm obviously biased, but... I thought we were all pretty damn amazing for having only started the team this year and that being our very first game. If that's our starting point, we could have a terrific following, if we all invest in it.
Start wearing purple, wearing purple Start wearing purple for me now All your sanity and wits, they will all vanish I promise, it's just a matter of time

Taking other MLS club chants also probably isn't a good idea as many MLS clubs now have USL sides. So for instance... the video of the Timbers Army above... they will likely be singing that song for T2, their USL side. Yes, they are a different conference than us... but still...

One more from Birmingham City...
We are Coopers, we are Coopers, we are Coopers yes we are, We are Coopers, we are Coopers, we are Coopers yes we are
Then the next line of the Birmingham City chant says "You are wankers, you are wankers, you are wankers, yes you are"... don't know if anyone can come up with a substitute for wankers...
As far as the music goes, I've already mentioned that I have expereince as a soccer drummer. I don't have my own marching bass, though, the one I used before belonged to my University. Since someone mentioned Trumpet, I have played for more than a decade and have some professional playing experience. I enjoy percussion more, but I have the experience if we ever need it.

I think we should definitely try this one out. It's simple but loud and forceful, also I don't know of any other team in the US that uses this one (since the St Louligans were getting on us for having generic US chants).
Also I think we should definitely work on the Muhammad Ali chant. It sounded pretty cool when it got started at the game. It'd be great if we could get the whole stadium involved like Seattle does. Maybe... Coopers: FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY The Rest of Slugger: STING LIKE A BEE
And one last one...
This is our home (clap x 4) Loo-Vul Slug-er (clap x 4) L-C-F-C (clap x 4) The club for me (clap x 4)

I really love RSL's song "Believe". Would love do to something similar (re-work an Irish drinking song or sea shanty into an easy catchy song for LCFC)

Anyone know of the Military "There are no Airborne Rangers..." cadence? We could have a verse created for each opponent. Ex:
Oh, there are no soccer players in St. Louis Oh, there are no soccer players in St. Louis Cause they got sucky fans, and oh yeah they got the Rams Oh, there are no soccer players in St. Louis
EDIT:
Oh, there are no soccer players in Richmond Oh, there are no soccer players in Richmond They call themselves Kickers, but their really just Bootlickers Oh, there are no soccer players in Richmond
Weve gotta come up with some that are a little shorter and easier for people to learn before getting more complex ones out there. Im all for awesome sounding, lyric filled songs and chants but to the public sitting with us in the supporters section, for us to be loud we have to all be together. Also need to figure out a way to get the ones we will use all the time out to the public. Social media, flyers etc. The more people that are on the same page with us, the louder we will be.
Someone mentioned in a previous post in the forum, asking the team if we could insert a sheet of chants/songs into the program but at the first game, I couldn't find a program. I saw a few people that had them, but I didn't see them being sold or given out. Unless it was at the merchandise table which was very crowded. I hope the team has people selling them on the concourse in a couple of locations tomorrow and the rest of the season.
They (song sheets) were given out at the march before the match. That is probably a topic for discussion, for sure, though I'm not sure I think any one person should be responsible for going to the trouble (as well as incurring the cost) of distributing song sheets to everyone every game. At some point, I'm sure the song sheet will be posted on the site so everyone can print their own or pull it up on their phone. It's early days, so we'll figure it out soon enough.
1. Song Sheets were printed up and handed out, by me, the day of the match. The same identical sheet was posted on our website the day before. A few people had a problem with this as it wasn't authentic. So I will probably discontinue doing this, seeing as it costs me a lot of money to do this.
2. The songs printed in the program, which was only available at the merchandise table, had a few of the songs we were concentrating on, but also had some other songs. I don't know when they print these things, so I'm going to have to get in contact with the club to see about getting the songs in the program updated.
3. Hopefully those of you that had songs that you wanted to see tried will come out on Thursday and bring them to the capos (I'll probably be leaving this post too, honestly). The only way to see them work is bring them to the masses and see how they go.

I didn't get to the first match until 2 pm so I missed the march. I also have season tickets in Section 107 so I'm not in the supporters section. I hope to make it to the march tomorrow night. I'm going out tonight and get a large umbrella. I didn't see umbrellas on the list of banned items on the tickets. Sitting in the rain tomorrow watching soccer is going to bring back memories of my daughter playing youth soccer.
