I'm seconding "Just Can't Get Enough", any rendition/variation of "Hey Jude", & pretty much everything Augustus comes up with - let's face it, the man's a natural. I've always loved West Ham's "Bubbles", but unlike "Hey Jude" & "Just Can't Get Enough" that many teams use, that is 100% a West Ham song. It seems like that would be like trying to sing "You'll Never Walk Alone". While I will never sing YNWA, I do absolutely adore "Bubbles". I suppose the majority ruling could win out & we could be singing that song, which I guess I wouldn't really mind since I do definitely enjoy it, but it would seem very unoriginal & would probably set us up for some shots thrown our way by our rivals. You dont think the supporters of other teams, arent supporters of other teams, and use other chants and songs as inspiration? Its also hard because we havent played a match yet. We'll have more to go off of and create more songs/chants as the season goes on.

Gotta do something with purple rain somehow! YES TO THIS. It had been mentioned to sing Purple Rain, if we scored a few goals that match (3+)

You dont think the supporters of other teams, arent supporters of other teams, and use other chants and songs as inspiration? Its also hard because we havent played a match yet. We'll have more to go off of and create more songs/chants as the season goes on. Sure, and in American supporter culture, some groups have some great original songs while others use very canned templates they've copied from other clubs. There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, it's just not very creative. We can use the same melodies & overall tune, with our own words, and make them more representative of our club than just a standard soccer song with our team name (or a rival's) inserted into specific spots like the "Gooooooo (insert team)... (insert team) (insert team) (insert team)". That's not to say we can't sing those, mind you, I just hope we can do more creative songs than just those types of tunes; at least not too many of the ones that literally every team sings. We can do better. As for "Bubbles", I'll stand by my statement that that is a West Ham song. There are several clubs in England who adopted certain songs for no rhyme or reason, by artists with no connection to the club, and that's still humorous and awesome, but in general the really famous/well-known songs are generally only song by 1 team (or at least very few). The West Ham story of how "Bubbles" became their anthem is hysterical & is one of the cooler traditions in the sport. It's a thing of beauty to hear Upton Park sing that song. They didn't just randomly decide to sing it though, which is why it would be strange to just decide "hey, we like West Ham's song, so we're going to sing it too; just because". I love the song & would gladly buzzingly sing it every game if that's what everyone wanted, because it would be fun, but it doesn't say "Louisville City anthem" to me.

While I like the idea, we haven't won either. Now, if we change it to "Will you ever see St Louis win the league", then I think we have a good chant idea!

I think the use of folk song melodies and, especially for Kentucky, Stephen Foster melodies would be the best start. However, the lyrics need to be repurposed with Louisville and purple specific references. My Old Kentucky Home's melody with re-worked lyrics would really be effective as a fight song.

Were all in the Coopers army We’re all out to win the League And we’ll really live it up, when our city wins the cup Louisville has the greatest soccer team
Also, a fun chant to walkin in a winter wunderland chorus
We dont need a net on our goal our goalies a black hole What a beautiful sight, a W tonight I really love my Ci-ty
So you call yourself a Keeper? More like a fell-asleeper! What a beautiful sight...
So you call yourself a team? well you're the worst weve ever seen. ....
this ones self explanatory Everywhere we go (everywhere we go) People wanna know (people wanna know) Who we are (who we are) So we tell them (so we tell them) We are City (we are City) The mighty mighty city (the mighty mighty city)
and You can’t beat us (you can’t beat us) So don’t even try (so don’t even try) The last team that came here (the last team that came here) Left with tears in their eyes (left with tears in their eyes) Coz we are city (we are city) The mighty mighty city (the mighty mighty city)
If (knock on wood) we concede a goal, this is a good response (if you’re happy and you know it) You can shove that goal up your ass Yeah, you can shove that goal up your ass He was offside and you know it, A replay would surely show it So you can shove that goal up your ass
5,4,3,2,1 We’re gonna have a little fun Before we step on the gas And finish kicking your all’s ass
Left, right is what we say To the goalies that come to play And when you let in a goal We get even more mental
*I go to UofL and we dog on Keepers alot so thats why i put so many goalie centric chants on here

This was posted by James Thomas on the Songs page from the main website: These are good for starters (can’t wait to hear the Fondy ditty), but we defninitely need something to go with “Seven Nation Army.” Comments on that page have been deactivated and there is now a link to this discussion. I wanted to insure that his opinions were still posted though. Songs suggested here will be approved by our TIFO commander Mr. Waiters and the songs site and downloadable sheet will be updated to reflect his decisions.

When I see you Elsie, I go out of my head. I just can't get enough. I just can't get enough.
I can't wait for the weekends to see you here again. I just can't get enough. I just can't get enough.
Elsie you're the one that I'll always love, (or "We slip & slide as we fall in love", if you want to go original) and I just cant seem to get enough of you.
do do do do do do do do do do do do do do...
or, we could also just do City, instead of Elsie, if you prefer

here's a quick idea I had... just throwin' it out there.....
(to the tune of Eileen)
Toora loora toora loo rye aye Elsie, we'll sing this tune forever
Come on Elsie, oh we swear you're our team At this moment, you mean everything When you score a goal, oh the crowd will explode We'll go crazy Ah come on Elsie!
Ah Come on Elsie, oh you know we believe We're here with you, let's go win the league Just get one more goal, and we'll be on a roll For our City! Ah come on Elsie!
Come on!... Elsie!... Too loo rye aye Come on!... Elsie!... Too loo rye aye Come on!... Elsie!... Too loo rye aye.... Oh (repeat this once)
then repeat song
