We should have a team portrait poster available at the first game.

Really want to know who the keeper is going to be...some MLS experience would be awesome there as well.

Didn't Juan Guzman play for Louisville? There was a lot of talk about Orlando's four signings coming to us, a Striker, Keeper, Defender and Mid fielder. I also wonder how many can be on the roster? I dont know if our squad is almost full, or if we'll get a slew of signings just before training camp starts.
I like a 4-2-3-1 formation. . .does anyone know the gaffers style of play?

I hear that 4-2-3-1 is his style.
There was a winger at last night's thing, but I didn't quite catch his name. Also, one of the players suggested that a guy who broke records at his college team is being looked at - think he said it was a striker.

Yeah, James said when he was introduced that he preferred an attacking style 4231. Going to be fun to watch.

Are they shooting for 18 players?
Who do you all think is likely to come from Orlando to bolster the team?
I figured on two to three players leaving five to six more roster spots to fill.
If we get a goalkeeper we have a starting line up with a 4231. That is, unless different players come along.

I'd reckon we'll have a 20 man squad before the OCSC players. I was fairly sure that Barrett would have been coming down from OCSC, but they waived him away. I would expect that we will hear of another 3-5 players in the next week or two, but the OCSC players we'll probably hear nothing of until the CBA is sorted.

I've seen video of our practices, and we have more than 13 people in training. Are we waiting to announce? or who are these extra bodies?

I would guess that some of these are triaists, like Polak was and presumably Lancaster is. I wouldn't be surprised if a few more are signed but as yet unannounced.

Updated to include Goodwin, and the rumors of Rivera, and Lancaster and Ilic as trialists

Hi folks, OCSC fan here. Lived through the USL years, which were terrific.
A couple of tidbits I think I can add to your conversation. The strong OCSC influence would certainly lend itself to the 4-3-2-1 style that Heath uses at OC. It only makes sense the MLS club would want your club running the same system. And O'Connor spent the last three or four years under Heath at OC learning the system.
When we were in USL we seemed to always have more players than we even knew about. Eventually you should probably have roughly 25 on the roster. You need to dress 18, and I think there are five subs available per match so more of the bench players can get time. With the inevitable injuries, you still have a ways to go to fill out the official roster. Even then, don't be surprised if players come and go all season. We'd have guys announced in the starting lineup once in a while that I had never heard of. They may keep a few local bodies around for emergency, and injuries require them to bring in players, etc.
I am surprised we haven't loaned a GK and forward yet. We have four goalies on the roster, with Tally Hall injured at the moment but recovering. I fully expected Earl Edwards to spend the season, or at least a chunk of it with the Coopers. I did notice he made the 18 last game which was rather surprising. Maybe Josh Ford will go down. I'm not sure but we can only suit up two goalies so it seems that one should go down, which would jive with the fact that you have only signed one. We also have a boatload of forwards (6) and only play one at a time for the most part. But three of them are dinged, so it may be a week or two before we can cut one loose, I guess. From what I am gathering at the moment that could be Rochez or Larin, but the situation is probably very fluid.
Hope this helps just a tad.

Three more players signed - two forwards (possibly attacking mids) and a goalkeeper - details added above.
Also at the kit reveal tonight, there was a guy called Austin who introduced himself to a few of us, as a central defender on loan, coming from Carolina.

OCSC plays a 4-2-3-1 not a 4-3-2-1. And I don't think OCSC dictates what style LCFC will play. Sure it has influence as O'Connor was under Heath for several years. But I don't think what the MLS club "wants" is a factor. When yall were USL your affiliation was with Chicago and SKC yes? I don't think yall ran the same system as your MLS affiliates.

While this is true, Coach JOC has already stated he's bringing the 4231 system that OCFC ran last season with him, and it's what he employed Saturday. It's also a big reason why Burke came here.

Never did I say they wouldn't run a 4-2-3-1. I knew they would. I just don't like it when OCSC fans act like LCFC is their B team. It's not. What their club wants has no baring on our club.

No offense intended. But I'm not really sure why that would be offensive. LCFC exists because OCSC acquired a team in the MLS. The USL club was moved from Orlando to Louisville. LCFC ownership was part of the Orlando ownership group.
Why is LCFC in purple color? Why does LCFC have a former OCSC assistant as it's head coach? Because OCSC has no influence over LCFC? Let's be real.
OCSC has a very strong bearing on the direction of the club, if for no other reason than the individuals know each other well. The Orlando relationship with SKC was a completely different situation.
