Nulu was brought up as a place to march from, and I certainly don't want to discourage more participants in marching. Is Garage Bar open to discounts for Coopers members?
Remember, one of the main reasons we approached Whiskey Row as our start point is that they came to us first. "Go where you are wanted" and all that. If Garage Bar is willing to do business, then I'm game to exploring this possibility.

Unfortunately, being 20, I'll just sit on the sidewalk and March when everyone else is ready. I like the idea of the longer walks though, gives us time to be noticed. Anything on Main really could be good. Coming from the Highlands would probably be too far for some people.

Even under 20, you can still come into those businesses; they are restaurants, not just bars.

Seems logical to do whiskey row just for consistent branding... coopers and all.
Just my 2 cents.

I think you all fail to take into consideration that we have families, senior citizens and people with medical/disability problems that are unable to march. Tail gaiting should definitely be a part of whatever is considered so that all people can be included.

Tail gaiting should definitely be a part of whatever is considered so that all people can be included. I don't think that it was meant to be one ruling out the other, just trying to gauge what the majority of people want to do. I cannot imagine that there will not be a tailgating element, particularly among families. Similarly, there will be those who are content to roll in at the last minute, and those who will stay firmly in ATG until the first whistle. Personally, as someone not from this culture, both tailgating and marching are very alien to me, so I am intrigued and am looking forward to participating in both at different times. Certainly, I recall being impressed when I went to see a NE Revs game with the excitement of kids kicking balls around in the parking lots before the game - such a sense of community. Then contrast that with the Seattle and Portland experience, a bright, very media friendly, parade of color and noise coming towards the stadium. I don't see why we cannot do both, but I see the need to identify who is interested in what.

For the USA/Mexico match in Columbus in 2013, many tailgated at the stadium all afternoon; then walked about a mile to meet at the "official" American Outlaws party, and then marched the mile back to the stadium and then returned to their tailgate until the games opened. There's nothing to prevent people from doing the same with Elsie matches. Tailgate all afternoon, head over to Whiskey Road, march over, head in. You get to enjoy both aspects.
